National Geographic

During more than 20 years, I consulted, designed, engineered, and installed computer systems for automating the Prepress department as well as the Cartographic Division at The National Geographic Society. In the Prepress Division I developed complex color print management and pricing systems for this in-plant facility.

My primary customers were the Director of Prepress, Jeff McConnell, and the Society’s Director of Cartography, Jack Shupe. Both managed demanding production departments, printing extremely high quality magazines and maps on a daily basis. In the Map Division virtually all of the internal cartographic and printing work at National Geographic was produced for many years on the systems I successfully delivered.
