Target for Measuring Digital Relief Images

With the advent of dimensional imaging in the Kodak NexPress, color digital printing gained the ability to produce relief images on a variety of substrates. By imaging and fusing a 28 micron high relief image, the NexPress can, for example, print animal skin and wood grain textures on paper.

Working with the NexPress for several years, I saw that its customers needed an accurate way to measure the dimensional printing level. To address this need, I developed a special test target. For a detailed discussion of the challenges in measuring digital relief printing Click here.
